True. Maybe a slight exaggeration

Without disagreement, there is no debate.
Do you really want a website where everyone just pats each other on the back?

That would be very very dull. More like a union meeting.

You berate rather than debate.

I think we should all look at ourselves before we criticise others.
Some of us can dish it out but can't take it and others love to play the victim.
I think you will find the HOL has a level of politeness and restraint that other football websites can only dream about.

When you start a conversation with an accusation then you get a different kind of response than you might otherwise.
This applies to everyone, myself included.

Just wondering what the future of HOL will be like if we do not have a return of football soon.

I may be wrong, but to me it seems like there are less posts and less posters at the moment, which of course would be understandable.

Without many Palace posts the site will surely end up with a small but hardcore group of users, properly just arguing politics.

I’m sure the site with survive ok as there are plenty of us regulars but just food for thought.

Things will be back to normal shortly when the footie recommences as with the best will in the world it is difficult to discuss Palace when nothing is happening either on the field or off it

Completely agree. This wasn’t meant to be a negative post by the way, was just wondering how the site may be effected if football was absent for any length of time.

Up the Palace

Don't berate, debate, or fulminate. Masturbate.

Personally, I don’t find it very worthwhile coming on here anymore. There’s very little humour and a lot of threads turn political and right wing.

I just want to say my Union meetings are full of wailing and gnashing of teeth. Then, the conferences are positively Bacchalian. If you like a piss up and a good grope (usually someone doing it to you, I hasten to add) they are the place to be. A bit like a northern nightclub in the 80s.
