Watching it now. Jonny Williams comes across really well. Such a shame about al his injuries. Lewis Grabban on the other hand, comes across increadibly badly. Coleman also seems very good. Lots of stuff about signing players with the right attitude. Dougie seemed to do this when he took over at Palace, although he did have pretty much a clean slate to start with. We still seem to have that ethos round the club but it's faided. If anything it just shows how critical the right attitidue is.

Coleman signed,all on loan, Ovie Ejaria (Liverpool), Lee Camp (Cardiff), Ashley Fletcher (Middlesbrough), Jake Clarke-Salter (Chelsea).He signed Kazenga LuaLua on a 'Free' from Brighton. Ejaria is currently on loan to Reading from Liverpool with I believe a view to buying him for £3.5 Mill.The lad could have a bright future. Edited by Willo (04 Apr 2020 8.18pm)

This post has been merged from a topic called 'Sunderland 'Til I Die' by bexleydave Sunderland did spend 10 consecutive years in the 'Premier League' prior to their relegation at the end of season 2016-17. Relegated again the following season so it really has been a fall from grace, however they have had crowds in the region of 30,000 in the lower divisions.We certainly wouldn't attract those sort of crowds in a similar situation! David Jones of SKY Sports is a supporter of Sunderland.

I'd expect attendence to remain pretty good if we went down. We've been pretty much sold out for the last 6 seasons. Take into account fixture times and membership restrictions on buying tickets it is likely it would be easier to buy tickets. When we were relegated in 04, the next years average attendence was around 20,000. Similarly in 94 and 96 attendences were about the same. The only year there was a drop of was 99 when we went into administration. Quick question for anyone that can remember..... What went wrong in the 80's. I know Allison's double religation was bad, but from averaging 30k to 7k in a few years? War time attendences were higher.

The following season, still in Division Two, Mullery was appointed and towards the end of that season some of the attendances were less than 6,000.The following season, also under Mullery, the trend in attendances continued and I recall attending games where there were not far off 5,000 in the ground. We finished in the bottom half of 'Division Two' under Gradi and Mullery and of course our results never encouraged supporters to attend in numbers. Testing times for the club and far removed from our heady days in the PL as at present.Some supporters just haven't experienced a virtually empty Selhurst Park, like I have over the years on many occasions.

So we pretty much tanked under Ron Noades until we got lucky with Coppell?

Sunderland's average last season, when the lost out in the play-offs to Charlton, was around 32,000 but they did get a near capacity crowd of around 46,000 at home to Brad City on Boxing Day.I think this was the highest crowd in the EFL that season. Edited by Willo (04 Apr 2020 10.43am) If my memory serves me right then I do believe last Seasons average was 32,157 and if my mind is not playing tricks on me I recall that the attendance against Charlton was 46,039.
