Culture is a consequence of genes.

People talk about culture as though it's a tangible....it isn't. The only tangible are our genes. The external environment can only modify them to an extent.

The move away from this rather simple to see truth was part of the 'blank slate' lie that social constructionists pushed into society because they wanted to promote egalitarianism instead of deal with the harsh truths of nature.

The truth is there are only genes and culture can only affect them so much.

That's not to say of course that we shouldn't use good cultural inputs to modify potentially anti social genes....We should.

But we need to recognise the truth on the ground and what is actually possible from pipe dreams....as it were.
