Not at all my reading of it. Then again I'm half Greek Cypriot so unlikely to agree. That makes sense. BTW I am not Turkish, but an ex-pat Brit. Most of them here side with the Turks just because they live here, but I am uncomfortable about the Turkish handling of the crisis. Faults on both side IMO.

Apparently Lily Allen reckons people like Laurence Fox should stick to acting and not bang on about political issues. Seriously.

Oh dear, I would check your historical facts before you comment. Firstly, Cyprus was and has not been a Greek land for at least a 1,000 years and even then it was part of the Byzantine Empire which had a Greek flavour as opposed to Ethnicity. Secondly, the Greek Cypriots allied themselves to the military junta in Greece to try and force the Turks off the island. That's pretty much as I remember it. It was the catalyst for the downfall of the Colonels and their singularly unpleasant regime.

I meant hate was the wrong word to use. And please don't weaponise (sorry) the Cyprus situation. Bigotry is everywhere. I myself am still undecided about the Turkish/Greek dispute. I know nothing about this conflict. What's the Turkish justification?

Lilly Allen "she admitted being 'sick to death' of 'luvvies' like Fox who are guilty of 'forcing their opinions on everybody else'." Yes Lilly we are sick of people apologising on behalf of our country for the Calais refugee crisis and telling us that Grenfall Tower residents were your neigbours and that the police were lying about how many died etc.etc... Anyway I though she promised the rest of us that she would shut up on social media.

You don’t need to be an historian to know that Cyprus being a small island in the Mediterranean, it will have been conquered by many different armies and nations over the centuries and have those nationalities in the GREEK Cypriot bloodline, coming from east and west of Cyprus. (Turkish Cypriots are Turkish invaders from 7 decades ago) Iranian, Italian, Sicilian, Armenian, Syrian, Georgian, Saudi and Palestinian blood is in the Greek Cypriot bloodline. Similar history in Sicily. Greece will not have the same blood mix and a noticeable lighter skin tone. And before anyone posts some utter nonsense because they have assumed something or haven’t read this carefully, I suggested encouraging millions of Mediterranean graduates into Britain to see how liberal elite parents would handle the competition their children would face. Too many people like Lily Allen that’ll fall for her bollox. She represents an unfortunately large amount of people.

Edited by Rudi Hedman (19 Jan 2020 10.29am) Especially in the fields of politics and entertainment I feel we really need a large influx, our young people don't seem to be up to the job and want to much money and the EU types take less pay and work harder. Well that's what the liberals say about construction and baristas so it much apply to them too.
