No, no, no, no, no, don't want any money grabbing mercenaries that are simply wanting out of China now their salaries have been capped.

I don't know, it's a difficult one. It's not as though we could chant a three syllable name like Carrasco is it. Yannick Carrasco? Nah, move on.
So I manage a Workshop which provides a safe learning environment for blokes struggling with PTSD and other mental health issues. Being a Palace fan isn't listed yet. |

It always makes me laugh when people are outraged that a footballer would go to the highest payer. It's a job, virtually everyone on here if offered 10 times more to work somewhere else for a few years would take it in a heartbeat, why is a footballer doing the same a mercenary? As long as they give 100% then I don't care if they have only come to Palace for the money. Do we really think people look at Thornton Heath and then see the changing rooms at Palace and think, finally, my dreams have come true!

If he comes to us on loan, it will be with the hope that a Champions League club sees him and takes him at the end of the loan. I don't think he is someone we could afford to purchase but happy if he provides assists and goals to make the 2nd half of the season more fun to watch and gets us further up the table. A short terms solution assuming that the longer term solution isn't available at the moment.
It's 106 miles to Chicago, we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark... and we're wearing sunglasses. |

If anything he'd be extra motivated if he played for us - went to China for the money, realised he wants to be playing high level football again, and if Palace are the biggest club that are willing to take him, he'll be trying to play out of his skin to attract the attention of a bigger side in the summer.

I suppose the one question mark I would have over this is what our longer term strategy is; if the reported loan fee of £3 million is true, and we were to pay all of his £180k pw wages, that could cost us around £6.5 million for a player who might only play a dozen games. That would be the equivalent of over £500k per game. Now I want some excitement as much as the next man, but would a deal like this compromise our ability to acquire our own players for the future? Or do the club think they can negotiate a better deal, or an option to buy at the end of the loan? If we could afford to buy him then at 25 he still has time on his side and has the potential to be Zaha's replacement but with a bedding in period before he leaves. If this is a short-term deal what are the club's ambitions/plans?

From what I can see so far in this window, the club wants to bring in an established striker who might actually score goals ( Tosun) and then focus on young talented players (eg Banks) who could be stars of the future. If they finally do bring in a good young RB, then we will finally have replaced Wan Bussaka

Rather see Sorloth back. Yes, I'd rather have Sorloth back over a player that despite having Eden Hazard as his direct competition for the position he plays in, has 41 caps for Belgium and played for the likes of A. Madrid and Monaco and is still only 26.

Realistically, not going to happen as Parish probably will not accept the loan terms ,continues to haggle,as he runs down the clock to the transfer window closure.
