I don't understand Northern Ireland politics. Why do Catholics vote for Sinn Fein knowing that they won't take their seats in Parliament making their votes wasted votes, Sinn Fein won't take their seats in Parliament, the Stormont devolved government hasn't worked for three years so effectively the Catholic part of this highly sectarian country is unrepresented anywhere.

Even "remain" constituencies voted Tory which shows the strength of feeling but there will always be Losers (in every sense of the word) that will not accept the result and we have already had a couple of HOL losers still trying to say that we didn't know what we were voting for

And apparently the smarter ones in our society. This inability to understand percentages says a lot about the failings of our modern education system.

Poor old Wisbech. The Tories will be in power for a decade at least.

Surely not. Labour have lost Scotland and will their traditional heartlands return to vote for them if they are doing better under a Tory Government. All they will be left with are the champagne socialists

Believing Leftist crap is a symptom of youth while the less capable somehow believe that they can be saved by a socialist government in a quasi religious way. The next election should tell us a lot about that. Edited by Hrolf The Ganger (14 Dec 2019 9.30am)

There is definitely an age divide that will remain in place but I feel that the immigration issue will be a big part of driving traditional Labour voters over to the Tories. There is no other credible party that represents those concerns with Labour being perceived as Mass immigration friendly.
