They are either immigrants or not. I don't believe they are.

There as many numerous examples of people born in a country that they aren't actually a part of ....Rudyard Kipling was born in India.....Do you think Kipling was Indian? He loved India and was raised there....but Kipling was very much an Englishman.

There are your genes and then there is your culture and self identity. A person's ethnicity is a combination of those.

Your genes, who brings you up and your reaction to that environment is all encompassing.

I would end birth citizenship, I would make it very much attached to allegiance in some form. This country is paying a very high price for allowing dual loyalties.

Sorry but I still don't think they can be classed as immigrants. At some stage you have to say they are British. If not all you Anglo-Saxons would be classed as immigrants and therefore virtually all crime in England would be down to immigrants

At some stage yeah.

There's a huge amount that can be written about all this but then again....lets not flog a dead horse...so to speak. I've flogged so many horses on this topic that I'm worried about a visit from the RSPCA.

Simple difference - most Anglo-Saxons will class England/Britain as 'home', whilst I have heard many 'British' of West Indian descent still talk about going 'home' for their holidays, and it isn't Skegness that they are talking about!

Something must have changed because, when I was growing up, apart from my mates parents/grand parents, I never heard anyone say that (40+ years ago). Sometimes I'd hear their parents say they missed things (the sun, proper ginger beer etc).

What you call them does not alter who they are or how they behave.
Being born on one piece of land or another is clearly not a factor in the disproportion of criminal behaviour.

The post was about immigrants. To me these people aren't immigrants.

So you are only concerned about labels?

You don't seem to grasp the reality that what landmass you are born on does not in itself necessarily alter your culture, genes, behaviour or upbringing.

Given that. Arguing about labels is beside the point.

Ok, but when that knife is in your guts does the label you use for who put it there really matter that much?

Immigration policies that have ultimately led to higher crime and murder rates are....in my book criminally idealistic and reek of societal neglect.....because those that made them didn't have to live with them.

The point was raised regarding immigrants. IMO these people aren't immigrants so you can't say, if they commit a knife crime, that immigrants did it.

It doesn't matter in the slightest but you can't say immigrants did it if they aren't immigrants.
