I've been so anxious about getting to watch this.
This was my first Palace team from when I was a 10 year old in 1978.
The documentary is brilliant. Even better than I thought it could possibly be.
The style and the swagger are abundantly evident. Our boys were on the telly being cool. The clothes, the hair, The Sash! Big Mal put us on the map and Venners completed the master plan.
The biggest surprise is how confident we were. There was no stopping us....until it all unraveled.
I think this story needed retelling not just for Palace fans but football fans in general.
A masterful achievement.

Brought back s many great memories started watching them in 1977 and feel privilege to have seen that team. Burnley as a 12 year old is a memorey that will never fade. We used to turn up early just to watch Buridge warm up and down the front to bang on the boards. Great film.

Vince Hilaire works down at Portsmouth one of my mates who supports Pompy knows him and says he is a top bloke

Anyone know what happened to Big Mal’s fedora? Was it auctioned for charity?

What are Jim Cannon and Dave Sw’hurst doing now?

They’re not senior citizens yet, are they?

Vince Hilaire was terrific. Is he a pundit? If not, he’d be great on the telly.

Bill Nighy was slightly flat as a celebrity narrator. I’d have preferred Roy Hudd who would have been more effervescent.

Steve Parish was in good form.

Perhaps we’ll be the team of the 2020s.

Was there any truth to the rumours that Walsh and Swindlehurst didn't get on and had a fight on a building site?

.

Back in the 1990’s I was Dave Swindlehurst’s milkman for a few years, he lived up Hayes Lane in Bromley, then I believe he’d been turned down by the police force and was working for his father in laws funeral directors

If a few words epitomise my time supporting the Palace then these are they. Sadly.

In fact the current period is the least unravelous there has been, I think.

The season that team won the old Division 2 was the only one where I didn't miss a game, home or away.

I lived on South Norwood Hill then, opposite Holmesdale Road, so could get home easily even after midweek games in the North.

Great days !

Good effort Sir! I have never achieved that in all the years. Went close a few times in the dark years of 82 - 85 (when there really weren't that many of us going up North)and then went and got married! That was the end of that (well away games anyway).

The documentary brought back some great memories but it also brought home to me the importance of developing first team players through the youth system. Hopefully the clubs plans to invest in the Academy will produce an influx of young talented players in the future.
