Southgate is just about to learn that it's pretty hard to get anything except mediocrity from the overpaid stars that he picks.

I've always believed that if England didn't bother with the big time Charlie's and picked a side full of championship players, they would probably do better on the pitch.

I've been saying the same thing for years. Use players aged under 25 who play in the Championship. Wearing the England shirt is their job interview for the Prem.

You will get massive motivation and quality that is good enough to give other countries a scare.

Southgate may not be a great manager but he has the courage to go with youth. At some point the England manager gets sacked so why play safe you may as well go for it if you fail at least you do so on your terms.

By picking young players he sends a message to the U21 side that if you are good enough you will be promoted and it ensures the senior players know they have to perform.

For years we have underperformed now I think we are playing to par are FIFA ranking is 4th and I think that is probably right.

well done Gareth and you never a bit of luck...

Southgate is doing fine but I would say that England are a top 10 or top 12 team at the moment.

It's 106 miles to Chicago, we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark... and we're wearing sunglasses.

Our defence is our weak spot - AWB may not deliver the best ball, but you miss his tackling if you don't play him.

Personally i think TAA was poor last night. Good runs forward but final ball poor. His assist for Kane was via a deflection.
Defence wise their left side kept running past him as if Herr Klopp had told him not to overexert himself.
Trippier and walker are in front of him inmo.

Obviously I want England to win every match.....but I've got to say it.

I can't stand Southgate.....he was a good player for us but as a bloke he makes my skin crawl.....Ever since that pizza advert.

He's like Lineker....Everything he says just winds me up.

I bet he's a Lib Dem.

I don't believe in Southgate as a manager either but he's having some serious good fortune with players...

Mount, Madison & Winks are all exactly the profile of midfielder we have missed. Small, able to receive the ball and turn, and good vision, games built on passing and ball retention.

Sancho looks a huge prospect, and I still have massive faith in Hudson-Odoi. He can be a world beater. Abrahams is growing week by week...

People moan about Maguire & Stones, but with a season playing, ironing out their wrinkles...then there's Chillwell & TAA.

Sterling's great...Kane is good...we can win the euros. We absolutely can. It's a shame Southgate is the boss, but he's probably also better suited to a national team than a club side.

If you want to live in a world full of kindness, respect and love, try to show these qualities.

Palace fans will just about watch England when they are doing well. I feel disconnected from them though, due to their big club bias.
Basically impossible for Palace players to play for England even when we are doing better than the supposed big boys.

..after two games for England they'd become big time Charlie's lol

Regarding big club bias; I think Sheff Utd, Norwich and Wolves are the only Prem clubs not to have a player called up by Southgate since he took over, so the argument just doesn’t hold up at all - Mings, Keane, Rice, Maddison, Chilwell, Callum Wilson are all regulars in the squad now, so it’s a long way from impossible.

Serious question but has he called up a Palace player in his time then ?

These Kosovan fans seem to be rather enamoured with us. A shift in gears from the receptions the England team has received of late. It's always nice to take a breather from inadequate racists.
