I heard Australia had a bit of a scare against Fiji - interesting news for England. All Blacks and Springboks can do us a favour by killing each other today.

France v Argentina was MUCH closer. 23-21.

75th min drop goal won it for France, but, how the argies must be kicking themselves, 79th min penalty a few metres inside French half, left of centre, got great distance, but pulled it wrong side of left hand post.

This operation, will make the 'Charge Of The Light Brigade' seem like a simple military exercise.

Hard for England fans to see either of them win. If they could have both lost that would have been nice.
France wouldn't have got a bonus point but Argentina will have a losing one - is that right?
Hopefully, England can beat them both without major injuries. Worryingly France seem to have drastically improved recently.

Who Palace fans should be cheering for in the Rugby World Cup according to NBC Sports:

Tonga = Crystal Palace
A team always punching above their weight and modest resources, Tonga can cause upsets, just like they did when beating France at the 2011 World Cup. Crystal Palace love to play the underdogs too, and are willing to dig deep in a solid, defensive system. Tealusa Veainu is the speedy star of this Tonga side, and just like Wilfried Zaha for Palace, they need him to shine in key moments.

Fairly predictable results so far, though Argentina gave France a tough game. Many of the upcoming games look like foregone conclusions so it'll be interesting to there are any upsets. Australia vs Wales is the next competitive game I'd say.

Excellent performance by Uruguay this morning albeit helped by slack play from Fiji and several missed kicks. Well done them.

Just hope the coach back to their hotel makes a timely return or they could struggle to put out a full squad for the remaining games.

Talking of Fiji . . .

[Link]

Quite a damming indication on the quality of Refereeing so far. Can see a tightening up of the laws from now on, what's the next game . . . oh, wait, USA v England. Indiscipline has cost England before, should be interesting.

But the 'next game' after the damning verdict took place this morning.

Edit: and Italy plays Canada before England v USA.

The 'official' release was after Uruguay's fabulous win over Fiji, so will come into force tomorrow.

You are indeed correct about the Italy/Canada game, I stand corrected & humbly apologise.

Refreshing to see a governing body calling out its own referees.
Gives the impression that something will be done to improve the standard of refereeing.

In the Wales V Georgia game I thought it was excellent. How long until they finally agree to give referees mics in football. I was impressed after one of wales’ disallowed try’s when the ref called both the captains over and explained he had to make a complicated decision, then every step If the decision making process.
