Ronnie Corbett used to frequent Selhurst Park. Never heard of Ronnie Barker gracing the stadium with his presence.

I’ll claim that point and add Noel Howlett who seemed old at the time.

He came when there was a scheme called Bring a Pal to Palace and Ronnie Corbett brought him. Can’t believe I’ve remembered something that has escaped Willo!

was discussing the likes of Arthur Negus, Percy Thrower and Percy Edwards the other day, then whilst ruminating on the need for a border collie on a busy high street in hastings I remembered one man his dog and another tweed cap and pipe 24 carat old fart - Phil Drabble. there's fred dibner and jack Hargreaves … any more?

Jack Hargreaves was a near neighbour in Belchalwell, Dorset. Bit of a misery...

I've just googled eric chitty and noel howlet and may I say thank you and well done, Wilfred Hyde Whyte is a fantastic call so I'll add Margaret Rutherford, Brian Wilde, Arthur Marshall and Nick Hewell from the the countdown present and Richard whiteley from the past

I could never see Darren Anderton without thinking of Margaret Rutherford. She was probably fitter.
Another one was Richard Vernon (he was the stern fellow in the train carriage in A Hard Day’s Night). He never looked young but he was 39 at the time.

I suppose David "Kid" Jensen probably falls into the category now. I remember him being on the terraces for many away game back in the 80's.
