Like Gary Neville said imagine a whole season where every offside decision is correct. Surely that's a good thing.

Very Interesting Back page and article in the Mail on Sunday yesterday... Basically VAR is massively flawed and there is a 13cm margin of error, when it is making decisions on much smaller margins than this, for instance 2.4cm in the Raheem Stirling goal Vs West Ham. It is utter bollox and not only are the decisions being made wrong, it is killing the atmosphere, the game and the enjoyment of it.

And as for the disallowed Jesus goal for Man City Vs Tottenham. Since when has accidental handball ever been an infringement?! Furthermore accidental handball is only deemed an infringement when a goal is scored and not at other times during the game or when deciding on whether to award a penalty or not (Via VAR) Utter nonsense!

I actually agree that goal should be disallowed. If the ball didn’t hit the Man City hand then the ball wouldn’t have been diverted to Jesus to score. Arms and hands aren’t used for football so teams benefiting with goals scored after the arm or hand has helped the goal happen is wrong. And no, clear accidental handball by the defender shouldn’t be a penalty, unless the shot is going on target. However, with regards to the killing of atmosphere and football, sadly I agree. I thought it would be good to get the right decisions but it takes too long, it’s used for too Man things and it’s a sport that rests on a few goals and usually one very important goal. Tennis has hundreds of points, cricket has 10 wickets and rugby has a few tries per side with penalties thrown in and rarely are the games that tight by score line.

Slo- mos so many different camera angles the the fans could see & witness. The ref got 1 view. Now you've got it & already you don't like it. Be careful for what you wish for, springs to mind.

It will not work well in its current format and it won't be long until fans have had enough. The introduction was to prevent 'clear and obvious' errors, such as the Henry handball against Ireland and the Freddie Sears phantom goal, which in fairness don't happen too often, as fouls and handballs are usually subjective. Goal line technology is great as there is no grey area. For the rare occasion there is a 'clear and obvious' error, a VAR system would be effective with a review system - 1 per review per captain per game. The saddest part is that we will reach a point where we can't celebrate the goal because we're waiting for a confirmation 10 seconds later, by which point the moment of euphoria has passed. People can live with minor refereeing errors, they tend to even themselves out over a course of a season anyway. I don't buy into the nonsense that bigger clubs get preferential treatment. From what I've seen so far, there have been some horrendous refereeing decisions going against what everyone else can see - e.g. the handball decision given against PSG last season against United. It works better in other sports due to the stop/start nature. Checking every goal/penalty decision is killing it for the fans.

I’d much rather the game be played and officiated as it always has been. Yes there will still be contentious decisions but work to improve the standard of the officials in order to reduce these mistakes to a minimum and just get on with it. Goal line technology has been great but the rest of it is just a dogs dinner at the moment.
