Lol what every one so far has not picked up, if why a 3rd keeper thats ok. Well in training sessions, you cant have your number 1 & 2 doing all the sessions of trying to save 10 outfield players (let alone all the aspects of defending) shots coming so you need a reasonable keeper, who up to standard of training, has been in big games (maybe at his level) for experience....

Just to pile onto that I heard a youth team coach from a PL team (not ours) say this. Most of the young players are there to make up the numbers and will never make it. The coaches all know this so why are they there? To help the one or 2 who will make it, someone has to make a team of 11. Quite shocking how blasé he was about this and how the players really think they have a chance when they'd be better off training to be a plumber. It's a ruthless business.
