Death is inevitable and the nature of our deaths is usually unknown, but that does not mean that I will play Russian roulette for kicks.

As soon as you go out of your front door it's that game.
I will have the opportunity not to ask why me !

I'm not sure as to the precise details as it relates to gambling but I do have some observations to relate to the 'nanny state'.

Roughly about 15 percent of the population have an IQ under 90. This is obviously going to have a major impact on their lives in a sophisticated society that is geared to relieving a person from their hard earned cash.

As a government exists for everybody.....those low IQ individuals just as much as it exists for the average or genetically gifted it's important that at least some safe-guards exist for those that are easily fooled or addicted.

So, for me, a certain level of nanny state has some justification......Whether it's appropriate for this case I don't know.

But I will say that I regard regular gambling as a very risky activity.

And therein lies the problem with a lot in this country. Everything is aimed at the lowest point of intelligence. Even the brightest kids are being held back in school because teachers aren't allowed to confuse the thick kids at the back of the class too much.

And don't get me started on the target audience of Love Island.

And poor people dont know about healthy eating.
So tax nice sweet things to force them to buy cheaper nice sweet things.
The only reason they dont eat healthy is it doesnt come in a box with findus saying stick in toaster.

How about doing something about the (usually fat, dyed hair and tattooed) women who go to the counter with 15 scratchcards to be checked (I suppose too daft to do it themselves) and then buy new cards with any winnings (always far less than the value of the cards checked) and then.............................................

expect you stand and wait whilst they scratch the new ones off, then.........................

rinse and repeat....

Poor people are shocking aren’t they? Firstly they choose to live miserable lives just to cheat the country out of the tax they’d pay if they earned more, they clutter up inner city areas that could be gentrified by better people and as if that wasn’t enough they don’t even eat the right kind of food. Do Lidl even sell quinoa?

Not true even doctors don't know about true healthy eating are they classed as poor no.

People in here mention about IQ again is way off because some one does not do well at IQ testing doesn't make them dumb far from people have skill sets which IQ has nothing to do.

I don't mind some nannying if done correctly the problem is the people that set a lot of this don't know themselves so they get it so wrong.

Clear examples are nhs giving misleading information on healthy eating and then you have government going on about fat is bad then sugar now animal products it's all driven from influence from other parties with agenda most to do with $$$

Now regarding the gamblin side yes people should have the right to choose but when you have a % of people that can't control actions they will need some help well it's easier to restrict then setup the services to help those people look at mental health services awful yet it's a big thing on the rise.

Not nice those people will be losing jobs but they will get pay offs so it's not case of your fired good bye also their is way more to the story then what is being told.

If you are going to educate everybody it's going to be a problem.

A problem for intelligent people to solve.

No pity for those individuals?

Yes of course but when I refer to the Bookies I mean the companies not the staff. People who have worked in bookmakers are usually sort after by other employees so hopefully they will not be out of work long.
