Alternative scenario: protester gatecrashes private event and throws acid all over the Chancellor while everyone stands around and does nothing. Field was absolutely right in his reaction, what with the random attacks on politicians we've seen over the last few years. My only regret is that she wasn't given a good kicking as well. Totally correct and CF has been uncharacteristically restrained.

This is a political argument now. And it’s also the same people who were outraged at the throwing of milkshakes and a comedian making a joke who are defending this. Politics is completely tribal on both sides now, as you so often demonstrate.

All this talk of invisible weapons and acid is laughable; she’s walked past countless other delegates, and was on her way past Field before he decided to jump and be the big man. No one can reasonably suggest he was in fear.

Bit of a difference between not liking actual assault, calling out the advocating of serious assault, and trying to make out someone's a woman beater because they calmly escorted a trespasser out of a private function.

You’ve written that like a newspaper headline; To describe the throwing of a drink on someone as actual assault, and in the same sentence describe Field’s actions as ‘calmly escorting’, is not at all consistent.

It is factual though. I expect you also have ‘that’ look on your face when calm given the tenor of your posts. He did push her into a pillar first didn’t he?
