I definitely think there's something to this. There was a certain sluggishness. It's a shame there's such a gap between this and the prior Nation's League games. Still there are positives to be had and I don't want to barrel in with doom and gloom. The National team has been in worse shape before, that's for sure.

There's a lot of promise. I get where you're coming from but people always barrel in on the England team, and I think it's a better approach to have realistic expectations but also to be upbeat about the potential. At the end of the day only one team is ever going to win a tournament and so it's almost always possible to view any team through a prism of failure if we choose to do so.
