A nice guy is Chris, but he's left the club in a mess. A myriad of expensive signings that have failed to deliver. They will be difficult to move on and will incur big losses. Not too many saleable assets among the more established players. Reliance on a 35 year old striker for a large percentage of their goals. I think they need an experienced operator to sort all that out. Pards will enjoy the sea air.... What they’ve from Glenn Murray I think they’ll lose in the very near future. Let’s hope so. We were pathetic not sending them down when they deserved it.

I’m glad he’s left, as a manager I do like him but just couldn’t whilst he was the brighton manager

Or do they have a director of football that does all that? If the latter then it’s hardly his fault they signed expensive duds like “Signing of the season” Jahanbaksh

This post has been merged from a topic called 'Houghton Sacked' by bexleydave I reckon they've just taken a s*** with their trousers on. Unless they massively invest in the squad, whichever flashy young manager they bring in next is going to get a rude awakening trying to make that team survive while playing the nice football Brighton fans think they should be playing. Always quite liked Hughton, so will be happy to watch Brighton get relegated having dumped him (please, please, please)

Hughton seems to me to be one of those managers who has loads of mates in the game and in the media who stick up for him but has generally failed in the top flight. He got sacked at Newcastle, he didn't get Birmingham promoted, he got Norwich relegated and just scraped in with Brighton this year. No doubt people will now say that he was sacked unfairly... again. As soon as you fail, you get sacked in this game. I'm sure there will be a Championship club who will take him and that is probably his level. Edited by Hrolf The Ganger (13 May 2019 12.33pm)

Decent bloke with an excellent record. However... The Weed have been going backwards for the last 4 months and something had to change. They reminded me of Huddersfield 1 year ago. I think with Hughton they are certs for relegation next season. Shame really as I would have thoroughly enjoyed them get thumped every week. Not quite sure who they would be able to attract. Allardyce?
