Consistent performances all season even with some really average and under performing players, Hodgson has done a magnificent job considering all this.

Brilliant job done for me, good to watch on the majority of occasions.

Couple of wins against s*** teams after we've struggled to safety and all of a sudden the cracks are papered, Hodgson's a genius and we've had a good season.

We haven't. We should be 8th at least. Another s*** summer not signing a forward or attacking mid and Old Turkey neck takes us down.

That or another slog to 12th, magic.

You can't pick when the fixtures against the sh@t teams come had we played them all earlier the table would have looked different.
It's where you finish that counts , if you had watched the team and studied the form of the teams around us and at the bottom you would have seen we were never going down this season.

A very respectable season and, in my view, the one where we were least worried at any given time about relegation.

Holloway - we're doomed
Pulis never gave us a proper full season
Warnock - we're doomed, pardew keeps us up but cracks emerge
Pardew - this man's a fool and Parish can't see it, we're doomed
Allardyce does a Pulis
Frank - worst.start.ever. we're so doomed.
Roy saves us...
Second season Roy...Were we ever greatly at risk this year? I'd say not.

That said, he needs a new game plan at home next year.

Been a funny sort of season.
15 points off the drop zone.
Away form has been exciting.
Home form has been dire.
Mid table security with 8/10 games to go.

I should be happy,I am happy but I just feel slightly...Meh !!!

Good competent season befitting a small club like Crystal Palace. We have gradually improved our playing staff over the 6 years in the Premiership giving us the most talented squad we have seen at the club. Never looked like getting relegated this season with this squad. Just had the odd unexpected losses against lesser teams but equally we got unexpected wins against teams we should never be getting near. The table never lies and we have had a comfortable season.
The trick now is to develop from here next season but not so much that we get into the Europa League as it would spell disaster for us as it has for other small clubs like us that had the misfortune to get into it. Looking forward to our development next season.COYP

We did play them earlier in the season and dropped points to them all...

Considering the amount of the season spent either without a centre forward or one that’s not good enough and the lack of attacking balance in the squad the points total is decent.

One of the greatest things about the premier league is seeing us turn over the so called big / plastic teams. winning at the Etihad and Arsenal makes up for a lot of the bad days IMO.

I feel the same way. I think it's because it wasn't until fairly late in the season that lingering relegation fears subsided. Then by the time we'd racked up more impressive displays the pressure was off, so it was more relief than excitement that remained.

It sets us up nicely for next season though. A perfectly competent season all in all considering the size of the club.

'Remarkable' includes:

Scoring 3 or more goals away from home SIX TIMES

...while not scoring more than two goals in any home match.

Not scoring a goal from inside the box at home until after Christmas

7 wins out of the last ten away

Only Luka scoring more than one goal at Selhurst this season

Strange season really, great moments but maybe one of contrasts and unfulfilled potential?!
Brilliant away form with some huge wins vs Arsenal and Man City but then contrast that with sheer apathy and over caution at home.
We also bottled two games against our rivals losing both and did the same in the FA cup quarters with the weakest semi final line up of all time ahead of us. Huge opportunity wasted.

Contrast the players with some great individual moments but the connection with the fans evident in previous years lacking...

A hard season to interpret but something to build on

Its not that unusual really, over the last 60 odd years of being interested in football, there have been dozens of teams that have been great at home, but can't get a point away and vice versa.

There weren't that many absolutely dire performances. Shame that many of them were against Brighton, Watford and other assorted dross, whilst also being mainly at Selhurst.
As for remarkable season - I would have thought relatively unremarkable. Mid table mediocrity and no real threat in the cup.
I think most long term Palace fans (and this is not a dig at new fans - we need you) is that surely we deserve something more than the Zenith Data Systems Cup by now. Fine trophy that it is and all.
