Our setup and playing style is suited for away matches where we can sit deep and play on the break. This style is not conducive to playing at home, where we struggle to dictate games.

In order to be better at home, we need a dominant creative midfielder.

But the scousers were all over us like a bad suit. I thought we looked more like the away team TBH so this should have played into out counter attacking away style...

Agreed.

But Wilf had what I thought was his worst game of the season and Benteke reverted back to type. A far cry from the Arsenal game.

Everton are decent and have been steadily improving. A long way off of being the '' mediocre '' team that some would have you believe.

Ultimately the defenders and goalkeepers were the winners on the day as PVA said.

They crowded Wilf out of the game. Shame he couldn't move the ball on quicker as with three/four round him surely there were others in space.
Given our centre half pairing a nil nil was a decent result.

Worst home performance of the season - even worse than Wolves and Southampton. At least we had shots on goals in those! Zaha was particularly disappointing. Yes he was crowded out but as usual he refused to pass the ball unless he's beaten the defender 3 times first.
