We won't get anywhere near Reece James, he will be in the Chesea 1st team squad next season.

Although, Gavin Massey from Wigan might be worth a gamble. I listened to the Leeds game on Friday whilst at work and he seemed to be quickest player on the pitch. Scored both goals.

Reece James is a right-back or central midfielder, he doesn't play in Zaha's position.I am led to believe that he joined Chelsea when he was 6 years old and started off as a striker.Has a good free kick in his locker and is a Chelsea supporter.

A player that Paul Cook signed from L.Orient on a Free.John Ward signed him for Colchester on a Free from Watford and he was at Colchester at the same time as Clinton Morrison.

I understand he always tries to model his game on Thierry Henry. In my humble estimation, Massey is not of the required standard for us.

Lamela for zaha, moses for sako? Could be decent and achievable

Great ideas. Throw in Lookman from Everton as well?

Yep mentioned this guy before. 100% agree. Will be available for a reasonable fee considering contract. Obviously no one can replace Wilf but this kid has some potential. Reminds me a little of Ryan Fraser at Bournemouth and likewise has pace to burn as well as ability to find that decisive pass/cross.

Plus he tends to win a few pens...and we all know how useful that can be.

Best scenario is obviously keep Wilf and add Daniel to the ranks.

Given that Roy very rarely makes any kind of statement about a player and has usually been quite diplomatic about the chances of AWB or Wilf moving on, for him to come out and say he doesn't expect Wilf to go anywhere is quite bold for him.

Wilf and his camp do this every year and every year we go here's another £10k a week on top of what you're earning.

If he goes, then fair play to him, he's been brilliant for us and we should get a good fee but I'd be surprised if he does.

If he goes I'd like to see us take a punt at any of Patrick Roberts, Daniel James, Andrija Zivkovic or Stephan El Shaarawy who you'd like to think could all be bought for around the £20m mark?

So....it seems like the time has come when Wilf will depart again after that interview the other day. We will need to bring someone in, anyone got any decent suggestions? We aren't shopping for someone in the champions ship, they would fill the spot salary sako will leave open.

Some players are irreplaceable.
Wilf is one such player.
We could try to sign a talented winger should Wilf leave. Someone like maybe Demerai Gray, but they will never fill the hole left by a Zaha departure

He is irreplaceable to a Club at our level.
He is one of two who can dribble so well with the ball at his feet and his ability to stop and turn whilst accelerating away is frightening.
There is no one we can bring in to match him at all.

I’d agree he’s irreplaceable like for like but how about if we bought more than one player with the money?

If we sold Wilf but bought; Lookman, Daniel James & Che Adams I think we’d be stronger overall.

Vive le Roy!

it might be achievable, but not decent, re: Zaha, no way
Lamala could be compare to Zaha, he might score as many goals, but wouldn't make as many or bring players into the game, agree about Sako though.

These are not anywhere near Wilf's standard.
If yoy want to look at direct replacements look at Willian, Leroy Sane or at a push Demarai Gray.

Edited by kevlee (21 Apr 2019 9.01pm)

Willian is not for sale and anyway is being chased by 3 or 4 BIG clubs, price around 100M, Leroy Sane, similar situation, and Gray is good, but not that good.
