50 years a fan of the Red & Blue, Claret & Blue etc.
That day 19th April 1969, changed my life forever!
Beating Fulham 3-2 to win promotion to 1st Division!

My favorite all time match beating Liverpool 4-3 in 1990.

Worse match - I was so bored!! Last match of a season watching a 0-0 bore draw with Huddersfield.

what was your highs & low?

I remember that Huddersfield match. They were already relegated from the old Div 1 and we were now safe. They should have won, missing an open goal towards the end. But it was awful....

40 years. I believe I saw something like 17 matches before I saw us win. First memory is from away at QPR with Clive Allen playing for them. Ended with a riot.

Was that the FA Cup quarter-final on the plastic pitch, where Palace were kicked out of it - primarily by Bob Hazell - and the ref did nothing about it all game?

Palace since 19 August 1972. Palace 1 (Tony Taylor) Liverpool 1 (Emlyn Hughes)

Also 1969. Best moment - probably watching us win a cup at the old Wembley. Worst I can recall was a bore draw with Leyton Orient on a freezing New Year day - circa 1975. Cant hremember feeling that cold since!

I believe it was. Have a feeling Allen scored as well - which did not cheer us up. The ground and surrounding area felt the ire of the fans that day. Seem to remember fans tearing down their gates. Was it 1980?

Miss the Percy Daltons peanuts sold by the Italian lady but hey ho!!

I am 76 and recall my great grandfather taking me to Selhurst in 1947, I cannot remember the game I was more interested in the peanuts that he bought me that I chundered a little while later.
it may not have been that game but at some stage, "Chopper" Len Choules became my hero.

Dunno how you lot remember that far back.

Was 1961/62 or 1962/63 season that I first went to SP.I was 5 years old
Can't remember who we played or what the score was.

I do remember that we used to go to Thornton Heath swimming baths before the game and then to the ground, with our towels rolled up under our arms, with a soup from the vending machine from the swimming baths.

As for thick and thin part of the question, the oxtail soup was thick, the vegetable soup was thin.

Think it cost sixpence to get in and threepence for a program.

I was probably at the same game, sitting on my dad's shoulders. Memories? Real Madrid friendly, Johnny Byrne, John Jackson, Burnley promotion game and my namesake, Dennis Uphill - what a useless trier!

I was at that game I think Jim Cannon played in midfield the theory being that he was the best 5 a side player at the club and that's how the pitch played.

My goodness, I thought I was the oldest on HOL !
I wasn't even born in 1947 - I was born in 1952.

My word, I have seen some 'Snakes and ladders' since I first set foot into 'Selhurst Park' in the 60s.I recall in my earlier days on HOL, some having the temerity to accuse me of being a Brighton supporter when I mentioned I was resident on the south coast.

Mine was a midweek game in 1958 when we were in 3rd Div. South. I was 17 at the time and a chap at work in my first job supported them and persuaded me go. Up to then I had not really supported anyone , I was too busy playing various sports to have time to watch football but had been with my brothers to see Chelsea and Fulham and Wimbledon. End result I was hooked and never looked back. COYP

Yep, Allen scored a scrappy goal in the 90th minute having bad mouthed Palace in the Press all week.

It wasn't well received by the Palace contingent !
