I'm sure you're aware this is available to you, but just in case, take a look at the international members option the club offers. There's no way I would rely on other HOL members for tickets when flying in from another country. Thank you!! I will definitely do this next time

**Update** I escalated the matter with PayPal. They contacted Declansmith and gave him 10 days to reply to my concerns in an effort to have both parties come to a mutual resolution. He failed to reply by their deadline and as a result they refunded my payment.

The tickets are more expensive than buying from a HOL member, but at least they're reliable, I am pretty sure they would accommodate you if you had to change your plans last minute.

I have used this site to buy. They currently are selling Bournemouth tickets at face value. You have to be a Palace Member to be able to buy and the tickets are placed by other Palace Members. The International Membership I have - that works too but this is a useful addition because the tickets eventually come from Palace's box office. I am not decrying Hol Members who sell tickets - just highlighting this facility for those who are unaware.

Definitely had not seen it until you pointed it. Thank you sir!

never said HOL members were unreliable, I said that I would not rely on buying tickets from HOL when travelling abroad, especially when the international membership is available. There is always a risk, albeit a low risk, that the sale may fall through, whereas buying from the club directly guarantees your ticket. Originally posted by exiled eagle

This thread is a shambles from start to finish. The bloke is clearly a tout and you're complaining he's a bit sketchy? Who'd have thought? At the very worst you broke the law and got done over, put it done to experience and move on. Secondly, it's you who couldn't make the fixture ffs, if you'd bought it through the box office you wouldn't have got a refund. Declan's only error was not telling you "Sorry, no refunds" from the beginning. Lastly, well done for terminating a clearly legitimate ticket source for many people on here. Like f*** is he going to show his face on here again.

I'm not sure why you've decided to re-raise an issue that has been resolved by PayPal in favour of the purchaser, except out of a desire to seek out confrontation, which seems to be your main reason for being on this site. Final warning; stay out of matters that don't concern you or you will be joining Mr Smith in the land of the forgotten.

First time I'd seen it Dave and there's absolutely nothing confrontational about my post, you just don't like the content. If the chap's been banned and had no opportunity to reply with his version, why publish it at all as it's supposedly a warning against doing business with him? His wife's email remains in the public domain so you might want to review that in the interest of fairness, just a polite suggestion. As for matters that don't concern me, threatening someone with a ban for interacting on an open members' forum seems slightly counter intuitive, but there you go.

Between the complaint/warning to others and the ban on the seller, he was given a period of just over 3 weeks to respond, supply the ticket or refund, and also he was aware of this thread about him. So, I would say that he had every opportunity to respond or rectify the situation.

So, I would say that he had every opportunity to respond or rectify the situation. Be that as it may, I stand by the original post. As he was probably loaning a season ticket based on what others have said, I'm not sure what the merit would be in sending a season ticket to Canada for a game that the buyer can't attend, for it to them (hopefully) be sent back again. If there's a date change and the buyer can't make it, I don't know of any instance where the liability falls to the seller. PayPal gave his money back, Declan has probably been banned from PayPal, had his personal details including an email address advertised and been banned from this site. Others who have bought tickets from him who wouldn't usually have access to palace games now have an avenue shut off Seems like a proportionate solution...
