One thing to keep in mind is Parish doesn't like managers like Mourinho or Benitez who are very independent and like to do their own thing. It's the same reason he never went after Dyche a couple years ago. He wants someone that's gonna work with the vision HE has for the club. Imo someone like a Daniel Farke would be the ideal choice - plays good football and good at bringing through young players. Obviously, he won't come to us now Norwich are going up, but someone in that mould would be ideal. Basically, like FdB only not a stubborn prick. Edited by TheArmaniCode (07 Apr 2019 4.10pm)

As our feeder club (Chelsea) May have to hold onto their players, Liverpool could be our go to club to pick up young talent and his connections may help us. Question is, is premier league with us more appealing than Europe with Rangers.

This post has been merged from a topic called 'Dean Kiely our next manager' by Midlands Eagle Not saying we should be in any rush to get rid of Roy but when he does leave why not give the job to someone who is young, hungry and probably looking for a managerial carrier. Knows the players and the club and wolves have proven a goalkeeper as a manager works. Would also allow Julian a job as goalie coach possibly?

Interesting thread. I've still got a soft spot for Slavisa Jokanovic. I remember wanting him when Parish was trying to replace SA and hoping Fulham wouldn't get promoted so he'd be free. I know Fulham had a poor season but I don't think its fair to pin it all down to him. He didn't have good enough defenders and they bought far too many players. There must be other young smart managers out there - the thing is after FdB I think Parish will be very risk adverse when he makes his next decision. He certainly will not push Roy out after a mid-table finish.

So many people on this thread saying that they want managers from the championship or the Scottish Premiership. Why would you want that. Roy offers us stability. To be fair I do agree that we should be far higher up the table and that we might benefit from a different manager. But that manager must be a step above Roy not below. For Me, 1. There was quite an interesting discussion on 5 live about managers the other day suggesting that the top managers often only move clubs after a period of unemployment. Pep was on a sabbatical before going to City, Klopp was unemployed before Liverpool etc. Clubs seem increasingly unwilling to shell out composure for managers despite being happy to pay big bucks for players. So our next manager as indeed Roy was may not have a club.

He has some premier League experience and I have heard that he is respected amongst the sports journalist community. I would be slightly worried that he walked away from Huddersfield when the going got tough though.

If you were to read the sniping that goes on on this board on a regular basis and between different factions of supporters you would think we are anything but a friendly club, however I understand your sentiment.

Graham Potter would be a decent bet. Young and on the way up - ideal for Palace. If he can bring McBurnie with him so much the better. McBurnie looks a bit strange but is developing into a really decent No9.
