Tiger Roll must be worth a fortune to breed. Surely if he broke his leg in next years grand national , they wouldn’t put him down as he’s worth too much money as a stud?

I did answer this yesterday but Harry Beaver goes into more detail.

Racing horses also can have good semi retirement in other competitive pursuits.

I've stuck £20 e/w on Pleasant Company with Bet365 as they give you half your stake back on E/W bets.

It's an impossible race to call as with jumps and that many horses there's always a lot of falls and a favourite can quite easily get taken out at the first fence.

As any bookie will.

Wife beating may be socially acceptable in Sheffield, but it is a different matter in Cheltenham

I think it was a Bet365 offer.

Apparantley there were quite a few people that were not happy with the result.

There is a rumour going around that there is a growing movement of people that would like it rerun next Saturday.

He’s been castrated like the majority of jumpers Casual. There’s a common misconception that horses are put down as owners don’t want to fix them. This is very rarely the case but sadly because for SOME (not all!!) injuries there is simply no fix. You cannot manage a paralysed horse weighing half a ton with a spinal injury without its muscles breaking down and it suffering kidney failure or developing fatal pneumonia.

Tiger Rolls offspring would be worth a fortune. If he’s been castrated, someone must have collected a load of his sperm, not Rebecca Loos again? Surely not.

To clear up the confusion, were they offering to refund half the stake even if the horse wasn't placed?

Half the e/w stake irrespective, up to a max refund of £125, stakes wagered before noon on the day of the race.

Ah, ok. Because in an each way bet, if your horse is placed, you get back the stake in respect of the 'place' element of the bet anyway.

Got it.
