For the first time in several seasons I feel like I need a break from football. Don't find myself looking forward to it as much at the moment. Have a great social time at football with friends and family but losing every week is starting to take its toll. My little mob and I are all long term season ticket holders yet several have started to hint they may not renew next season. I think a loss against Huddersfield may tip them over the edge.

I think you are spot on and echo the feelings of many people who have supported Crystal Palace over the years (in my case 50 yrs so I have seen a few highs and lows in that time!). The club seems to have forgotten that we give our loyalty but that it has to earn it.

I've not rushed out to renew my season ticket this year and for the first time ever I am considering whether I even want to.

Quite sad it has come to this but for me anyway, home matches have truly been a waste of my money, time and effort this season.

Why would any right minded individual want to dig deep into their pockets to endure more of the same?

If we can't beat the worst team in this league at home then we deserve a relegation scrap. 2-0 to Palace

it all depends on which Huddersfield shows up.

at Selhurst, we are mediocre.

so, a close match with either no goals at all or a late winner from us.

I concur with these sentiments.

The second worst home record in the PL - only rock-bottom Huddersfield below us.
Lowest number of home goals scored, 11 goals, from 15 home games.
Only 3 home wins, two of which were against struggling Burnley and Fulham.
Only scored in 8 of our 15 home games.

Supporters have been subjected to total and utter dross, so it is hardly surprising that some are considering whether to renew their season-tickets.

Since the loss of the last home game this has become a "must win" game. providing we pick the right team (i.e. not 3 defensive midfielders) we should be ok for a single goal win. Roy may need to break his habit and actually make substitutions.

This echoes my feelings exactly. I’ve watched the Palace for nearly 60 years but this season has really been one of the most boring at Selhurst so much so that I have missed several games with my season ticket. I’m also considering whether to renew it!

I like Roy in general but his style of play is too negative and boring.
I’ve loved watching Wilf in recent years but even he can’t lift my enthusiasm lately. We have good players but they need to be unshackled at home.
The prospect of watching us labouring to break down a terrible Huddersfield just fills me with apathy !

Indeed.

All the pressure will be on us.No pressure whatsoever on Huddersfield and this might be a factor in the game.If we go behind, the atmosphere could become very toxic with tonsils coming off their moorings. An early lead for us will be just the tonic.

Depends what you call a must win game. I don't think loosing this game will segd us down and we will still survive despite loosing.
But I feel it's a must win game for the fans. We need something to get our enthusiasm back.I like many others on here, havd had enough this season. Never felt this way before and need a good win and more importantly a good "get up and at em" performance. Want to hear SP rocking for a change.

Looking at our remaining home games, this one is the most winnable.

2 more wins this season should be enough to stay up and I think this needs to be one of them.

But it really wouldn't surprise me if we lost to Huddersfield and then got the wins in less likely games.

I'm the worst tipster in the world, so I'm going with 2-1 to Huddersfield

Interesting that there is little complacency amongst the fan base, only realism and I hope Roy is able to secure that vital win next week over a very poor Huddersfield,or serious questions will be asked.
