Lots of negativity here. For those of you there you must remember the wind. It was swirling all round the pitch. Before the game the sprinklers were being blown in all directions.
It is really hard playing football in these conditions even for professionals. Brighton got the rub of the green.
Both Brighton goals were freaks against the run of play. Murray’s was the first time they had a shot. And what a shot it was. How many times did Glen do that when he was with us? For me that made it even more painful. And that definitely killed our noise. It was like we had been punched in the gut. It took the wind out of our sails big time
The second will surely be goal of the month. Where I was standing in the Arfur I was directly behind it. It was a goal as soon as it left his boot. It was like slow motion and painful because it was so good. And unfair to blame van for it.
I don’t blame the players. Brighton got very lucky. But I do question our team selection. In the wind I would definitely have brought on Max in the first half. We needed his short ball game, speedy passing and guile to keep the ball on the ground and find a way through. And Kouyate should have been on to rough them up a bit.

Just pre warning that this is a rant and I’m still very annoyed about Saturday.

So first of all gutted with the way we played,
I’m also extremely disappointed with our fans in the Arthur, atmosphere was flat, every time we were singing we were out sung instantly and went quiet again.

Putting up with a load of abuse being called pikeys and songs being sung about cantona, no one battered an eyelid, 4/5 fans were trying to get songs going and giving some banta back for 1 of them to be ejected, absolutely Shambolic treatment by the club, cameras on every one of us no wonder the atmosphere in the Arthur was appalling,and we had verse after verse of where’s your famous atmosphere being sung and before anyone says we were losing this was when it was 1-1.

In my opinion need to move the away fans back towards the holmesdale, gives the family end a break aswell,

I have to agree with Dreamwaverider.

I didn’t see a difference in effort. The weed simply lucked out. It’s a game of fine margins at this level. If we had won (which on a different day we could have done) no one would be criticising the players’ commitment; or Roy’s abilities.

Next time we win a couple of games with a bit of good fortune of our own they’ll be people on here raving about good old Roy and how we can comfortably finish in the top 10.

Let’s have a bit of perspective.

Nearly every home game is like this.
If we are so good at defending I cannot see any negative in absolutely busting out of the blocks for the first20 like we used to.
Then if it isn’t happening only bore us for 70 mins
You can’t blame luck if you don’t create an opportunity to have any.
