I for one, clapped him off the pitch when he came over to the Holmesdale. He helped get us where we are, we sold him as dead wood. He gave 100% today which was more than some of our shower of s***. He showed today that he didn't want to leave us to join Reading on loan.

Saint Glen scored 30 goals for us in one season and got us promoted or weren't you around for that. The guys a pro and showed respect to us by not celebrating. Despite hurting from defeat I clapped him for what he's done for this club as did most around me. Losing gracefully gets easier as you grow older.

It was Murray who called for his team to knock the ball out when PVA was hurt when he could quite easily have played on unmarked. Call him what you like but he’s a pro, quality player who, with hindsight, we should have never got rid off. We did and can rue the result. Think he realised how much time it would waste. Murray is a very smart player. Always seems to be switched on. I wish some of our players were more like that.

I remember one afternoon he gave Vincent Kompany a right nightmare. Must be painful for Parish to have to sit there and watch Glenn banging them in against us every time!

Murray is a legend, he's in a tradition of have boots will travel fox in the box striker who do the 'club circuit' before their star quality shines through - here'a few more: Bob Hatton, Micky Quinn, Ricky Lambert, Steve Bull, Pop Robson, latterly perhaps Charlie Austin, and they can perform at top level like Vardy and Kevin Phillips. Murray is in this bracket for me - the whole story behind his goal on Saturday shows what he is - a winner. And I don't use words like legend and winner too often - but I'll happily make an exception for Glenn. Didn't see the HF response, but I'd have been standing and clapping too had I been there and not propping up the bar at my local.

Well said. Had we kept him and Jedinak life would have been very different by now. Relatively small decisions cost us probably a top 6, maybe even an international, slot.

Yep, it's difficult, I think with Jedinak he was getting on....which was the case with Murray. As it turned out Murray did a Terry Sheringham, while the Jedi's powers declined as expected. Hindsight is always 20/20......The far bigger problem has been Benetake's woeful fall.....It's been dramatic. Edited by Stirlingsays (11 Mar 2019 11.35am)

Another year or two with his influence would have made a difference, very similar to Shaun Derry. We missed Shaun when he left, even though he was a journeyman.
