Excellent goal, really really excellent goal from Michy at the weekend. How many times of late have we seen a true poacher's goal smashed into the back of the net by one of our centre forwards - not often.

However he also showed when given time and space he sometimes makes the wrong decision with the 1 on 1.

Problem with this all is that the better this guy does with scoring goals, the less chance we have of signing him permanently. Same with RLC, as soon as he got the nod to go to the World Cup, we had no chance. In the end they didnt even sell him at all, let alone to us.

I hope a serious conversation has been had with Chelsea about this to establish if we really have a chance at getting him or not, given their embargo and our financial constraints.

When we are safe, if we play him ahead of players we will actually have next season its a mistake as not only are we helping another team in the same division, but we are denying game time to our players.

Not when each place in the league is worth x millions.
Play your best; even on loan players.
Our own ahould step up if they want a game.
Sod em.
I pay good money so i want the best i can see.

I guess you are right Football is a business not a game played to placate football fans. I do however understand the point that we should not be used to inflate the price of footballers we might want to buy!

It is a game to placate and entertain the fans as you say fans.
Ive been there when we were crap and payed hard earnt dollar without the hope of watching superstars.
Now i have the chance i want to watch them in my teams colours.
I dont give a toss if they move on.
Their loss as well.
Carpe diem.
As they say.

Do we really want to start next season with a bunch of forwards completely out of form and unable to score goals?

Its a bit of short term thinking IMHO, which Parish is famous for.

Trump lost. Badly. Hahahahahahaha.

A loan is better than nothing - if there is no prospect of finding a permanent signing then at least a loan can help tide you over.

Mind you, having said a loan is better than nothing names like Bamford, Adebayour, Sanoga, Flammini, Remy, Ameobi, Jerome suddenly challenge my own assertion.

You shouldn't include Jerome with that lot, he didn't score a lot of goals, but he was a very good player.

The only way we could bring in Batshuayi was on loan, there's no way we could afford the 35mil they probably want for him - otherwise he'd be permanent already.

Benteke and Sakho were only slightly less, and we have Zaha and AWB as saleable assets, but the key thing for me is getting Benteke and Wickham off the books.

I’m not saying I want it to happen, because the could be consequences, like hamstringing ourselves in future windows, but it isn’t impossible. His contract demands might make it difficult, although I doubt many top 6 clubsxwant him, apart from spurs, but they’re not going to pay him handsomely anyway.

Bats has had limited game time and already some are saying we should purchase. Let's see how he gets on eh?
I do take into consideration the fact that he has scored 2 already.

Reasonable approach given Benteke scored 17 in his first season for us.

£40m for AWB, £60m for Wilf, (£5m for Benteke!) a big summer transfer kitty after owners have taken some out. Should be enough to secure Bats plus others. Love them to stay but realistically this must be in the Chairman's plans.
