Good choice but you can't get Youngs in The Midlands or if you can I've never found it.

One of my locals serves Doombar and the other serves Black Sheep both of which I like

Five worst:

Any and all lagers

These days Young's is brewed in the Midlands and tastes nothing like it used to.

Thanks Ash. May take a trip to Boughton Monchelsea. It’s Rockin, so no g by the way. Had to look it up. Are you biased because it’s your local brewery?

Sadly true. Wells also brews Directors which seems less badly affected.

It's brewed in Bedford which is hardly The Midlands but I'll have to take your word on the taste as I don't think I've tasted it since I stopped working in Croydon in the eighties

Beer or lager? Or is that getting too poncey? Session Beer or

I drink with a lot of "beer" drinkers who hated me drinking larger like Kronenberg. I stopped when that French turd starting advertising it (I boycott Cantona like 80s Jerry Adams).

My top five have to be:
1. Four Pines (Canadian I think).
2. Little Creatures Rogers (this is not what Richard Gere got done for)
3. Old Peculiar
4. Doom Bar
5. Old Speckled Hen

(Any Porter would make the list)

There used to be a lot of terrible beers over here in a Australia like Emu or Swan Draught and that was about all, but there's a lot of breweries popping up where they understand taste.

Worst 5 - I implore anyone not to try them:
1. Great Northern
2. Emu
3. Carlton Draught
4. Swan Draught
5. Budweiser

You know why they call Budweiser sex in a canoe? Coz it's fcuking close to water!

Also, has anyone seen Cloud Nine recently - sued to drink that years ago and haven't seen it around. Proper percentage on that bugger!

Genuinely I don't think I have drunk one hundred beers and now I have given it all up for the sake on my marriage!

So I manage a Workshop which provides a safe learning environment for blokes struggling with PTSD and other mental health issues. Being a Palace fan isn't listed yet.

Charles Wells was bought out by Marstons a few months back. Recent batches have come from Burton. Tastes nothing like it used to.Closest thing to it is Sambrooks beers still brewed in Wandsworth with that distinctive Sarf London water!

Ah, I did not know that and it does now make a lot of sense to me. It does taste like a Burton nowadays. Yes, I like Sambrook and it's quite similar to Young's of yore

I live in Spain. In a bar here a normal larger is 2 euros. San Miguel is 1 euro. Why? It is awful! Nobody drinks it here. I was actually offended when a colleague came to my house and had bought me San Miguel. He thought it was good as it was Spain's national beer

Foster - Australia national beer - awful - nobody drinks it in Australia
San Miguel - Spanish national beer - awful - nobody drinks it here
Carlsberg - Denmarks national beer - awful - nobody drinks it there
Heineken - Netherland's national beer - awful - nobody drinks it there
Carling - England's national beer(???) - awful - nobody drinks it there

Catch a trend???

I’m in Gran Canaria at the moment. They’ve got Amstel on tap , that I drink in my local, don’t taste the same here, would have preferred San Miguel, dorada or estrella out here.

Cans
Sapporo /Heineken (stubby vans)

Bottles
Corona

Draught
Guinness and most lagers , not Stella/kronenberg etc

Last night whilst out for an Indian I discovered a new lager called Bangala which makes a change from Kingfisher & Cobra which is all you only seem to get at an Indian restaurant. The good thing about this Bangala was that it tasted perfect and came in 750ml bottles which is always a bonus. Therefore this will be my new Indian lager providing they stock it.
