Nigel's last Palace appearance I think.

You're not wrong there, Rob!

Palace since 19 August 1972. Palace 1 (Tony Taylor) Liverpool 1 (Emlyn Hughes)

The Charlton draw 05 season with their equaliser in the last ten minutes when a win would’ve kept us up. I didn’t talk to anybody for two days after

Totally agree. I wasn't just gutted, but furious. First, over Leigertwood's brainlessness in giving away a completely unnecessary free kick, from which they equalised. I said at the time that if I never saw him again, it would be too soon. And the Charlton supporters' infantile "celebrations" at the end. I've followed their results ever since, on the whole with considerable satisfaction.

George Best breaking Ian Evans leg in October 1977. We had started the season well with 4 wins and 2 draws from 7 games but it fizzled out after that. He didn't play again for a couple of years

Southampton cup semi final in 1976 at Stamford Bridge. I’d been to every game in that cup run, but we just didn’t turn up at the Bridge, maybe. It was nerves. I was gutted with our performance, only said about a dozen words for the next week.

That was very disappointing as was the league campaign when we had set for promotion most of the year. Can still remember Mick Channon doing his signature celebration. Still at least they beat Man U in the Final with Mel Blyth playing

Do you mean 2005 penultimate game of the season? Yep that was bad and even worse was to come at Charlton a week later.

Losing the '76 Semi to Southampton was a miserable affair as well.

Yeah that's the match when ventola scored his only goal for us thought we were safe until that fateful moment deep into injury time

One of my brothers is a Millwall fan, so I come home from Dubai for a long weekend,(I think it might even have been a new years day game) Palace are playing Millwall at the New Den, Only tickets my brother could arrange are in the home support, we were 3 down at half time, turned out to be George Burleys last game in charge.
