I’ve got faith in Jules. I’d imagine he was a bag of nerves yesterday, not played in over a year and suddenly he’s called in to play away at the league leaders.

The third was clearly a massive clanger, I don’t think he could have done much with the other three. It will be difficult to get a better keeper than him for a 1 month deal. Vorm is a good suggestion, but no team would loan out their 1st or 2nd choice keeper.

Apart from Vorm, which other 3rd choice keepers would be an upgrade? It’s just a desperately unfortunate situation to get both keepers crocked in the same game.

He was not some young keeper making his debut, he is a vastly experienced keeper who has made over 370 appearances for us.Whilst of course he might have been suffering some nerves I doubt he was over-awed and shaking like a leaf.

Burnley have 3 "1st choice" keepers - all played for England in the last 2 years.

Not sure Burnley would want to do a deal with us - as they must see us as one of their relegation rivals.

But if we could overcome that - Joe Hart on loan, I know he has had his problems but must be better than an aging Speroni - as much as he is a Palace legend..!!

but if we replace him it must be with a keeper with proven prem experience. Yes, jules is a question mark and a risk. but compared to some kid with 'potential' ? i am willing to risk starting Speroni for the Fulham game.

he is one of the greatest palace legends i can recall. and goalkeepers organise the back 4 in ways that are not to be taken for granted.

What about the Spuds and Soton away ? Also getting the likes of Joe Hart in seems a little panicky as the injured goalies might be back by Soton or Foolem.

All depends on when they will be back. Jules in goal for the cup is fine but after yesterday I think I could be a better bet v saints

According to Physio Room, there are no return dates yet for both Guaita or Hennessey. After his shoulder op. Pape's date is 16th March.

He made a howler, but I think I would be rusty if I hadn’t played for 2 years. I am not going to slate him, what a game to be thrown into, Liverpool away... let’s move on.

Nick Pope is an excellent option. More so than Fraser Forster who is available for 60k per week.

Looking again it wasn’t just the obvious one but also two others he could’ve and would’ve saved years ago.

The fact of the matter is that he made a howler to gift them a 3-2 lead after we had made it back to 2-2.It really gave them the impetus after our equaliser. The fact that he has been a loyal servant who hasn't played for a while doesn't make him immune from criticism.

One can just imagine the furore if Hennessey had made such a mistake.

As well as his prior record Speroni has an excuse for that mistake. Had it been Hennessey he would not have been able to argue that he was playing his first match for a year, or that he was nearly forty, or that he had been selected faute de mieux.

Speroni did his best in the circumstances; either of the other keepers making that mistake would have been doing less than their best. Actually for Speroni just turning up for that demanded considerable bottle.

The problem with that is that we don't want to use up our one loan spot for a keeper when we urgently need a striker who needs to come on loan as we're too skint to buy one
