Yes a permanent deal until the end of the season. I believe another one of our academy players will also move shortly but only on Loan.

It’s the the right decision for Williams to try and rebuild a career elsewhere.

Had those injuries not occurred at crucial stages in his development who knows how good Williams could have been. As it is I'm sure we all wish him the best of luck.....even at Charlton.

I would have played Mutch and Williams against Grimsby. Really don't see the point in playing first team. They have done well and need a rest. Who will play now? Kaikai, Dann, Wickham and Punch?

Good luck to the guy but frankly, it is a mystery as to why he has been on our books for this long. He has never been good enough. So never good enough for us but good enough to be in a Welsh side that got to the Euro semis? Really sad to see him go - would have liked him to have been on the bench for us this season - a midfielder who can run with the ball and draw a lot of fouls. Remember him being on the train going to the Cup Final. Palace through and through.

Superb, really hacking through the lunch ticket bods now. Really, really disappointing 'career'. Sat in our reserves for the best years of his career, the occasional loan to keep the profile up. He'll bang a couple of goals, get a two year deal and then sit in their reserves for the duration I expect. That's twice you've mentioned "lunch tickets". Are you hungry or something?

Such a fine line in football. JW was so close to being a really top player but fell just short. The outcome has been years on the fringe. Shame because he would have been our biggest star ever (well alongside WZ and Wrighty).

By all means be nice about a long serving player but don't delude yourself that Williams was ever better than average Championship standard.

All the very best for the future Jonny. Lovely guy, who has been a credit to our club throughout. Although I think it's for the best, sad to see him leave. Good luck and continue to do us proud.
