Another horror that we always fast-forward: ‘The 12 Days if Christmas’ by The Spinners. Check it out. It’s fvcking awful! Oh yes. You have hit upon one of the worst Xmas songs ever. We all know the song but this version will never make it onto any Christmas playlist I ever create. The Twisted Sister version is quite amusing in a dumb way. Now I think about it. The Nat King Cole song, The Little Boy That Santa Forgot is shocking as well.

Any Christmas song by Cliff. I can't stand Last Christmas either. Sentimental slush when Georgy boy was pretending to be straight. Should be more like 'Last Christmas I gave you my @rse' How about this killer version?.... [Link] Ollie's Dad,Ash.

At then risk of transmuting into Super Scrooge - I hate every single one of those awful saccharine rubbish ditties. They follow you everywhere. Go in the supermarket and Slade and Cliff Richard et all are there droning away in the background. I can manage a couple of Carols and then that's it. Perhaps Palace should release 'Glad All Over' as a Christmas hit? Roll on New Year. (I may have become Grumpymort.)

The truth is, I cannot abide ANY Christmas song, in fact I cannot abide anything to do with Christmas. My wife tells all and sundry that I am "Bah Humbug" and she is 100% right. No Christmas tree or any decorations in our house.I will be elated when it is all over. Imagine and Band Aid. The godfathers of virtue signalling and utter cobblers. Gotta agree...having to listen to lennon's out of tune drivel puts me right off of my Christmas dinner.
Touch my coffee and I will slap you so hard even Google won't be able to find you. |

Willo, you may have mis-read my post. I was referring to the FOOTBALL fayre over Christmas.

Willo, you may have mis-read my post. I was referring to the FOOTBALL fayre over Christmas. My sincere apologies.Quite often I am an intellectual vacuum and perhaps I need to avail of Specsavers. I most certainly enjoy the football fayre over the festive season and as always I am looking forward to the game against Cardiff.Let's hope there are not too many Father Christmas outfits in the crowd. All that 'Rudolph the reindeer' piffle raises my hackles. The other night my wife and I went to the pub, we walked in, 'Roy Wood and Wizard' was being played and I did a very quick about-turn and walked out.My wife suggested that I contact a pub to ascertain whether the music for the evening had a Christmas theme and if so we wouldn't take the trouble to go there. We don't have a tree or any decorations in our abode but my wife puts Christmas cards on display and I have been sorely tempted to collect them and put them into re-cycling.Makes my blood boil.
Anyway, I hope those on HOL who celebrate Christmas have a joyous time and that the Christmas songs you hear are to your liking. Edited by Willo (24 Dec 2018 1.42pm)
