I didn't find anything in the 'faking' of the size of the earth....and the 'supposed' prompts. What I do find with a lot of moon conspiracy theorists is a kind of....'look at that, this means, 'insert claim' when the reality is that there are perfectly rational explanations. The reasons the US didn't go back are to be found in the reasons they went in the first place......It was about beating the Russians.....once that was achieved and they had addressed the 'Kennedy' piece of history....they saw little financial sense in continually going there. Once Nasa had exhausted excuses for the extra expenditure the usual, 'we can spend money better elsewhere' crew take over and then it's bye bye trips to the moon. The reality that building bases on the moon was always going to be profitable long term in several senses doesn't really resonate in democracies where everything is about the next five years....not the long term. Edited by Stirlingsays (07 Dec 2018 10.46pm) These are all perfectly reasonable arguments. Just not as exciting as a juicy space conspiracy. I'm always prepared to entertain conspiracy theories but without evidence, that is all they are. The only position I object to is one that dismisses potentially valid evidence without investigation just to toe the official line.

It's all part of the push and pull of inquiry. As long as people don't get too precious about stuff (which inevitably a small percent will) then it's all well and good.

I think too many people have been watching dodgy youtube commentators.

The Russians and the Chinese were monitoring the whole thing, every landing, and would have jumped at the chance to discredit the Americans, dont you think? The Americans absolutely landed on the moon, Next you'll be telling us that the earth is flat!! But who is to say that they were all duped as well.

Now spending millions and millions on going to the red planet when we still don’t know how the moon realistically got to where it is and how it correlates so perfectly with events such as Eclipses etc. Still so much to learn seemingly no interest in going back. Going back will not gain us any new information, so what's the point, getting to Mars will but this all costs massive huge amounts so that's why we don't bother with the moon.

The moon is by far the closest and hence technologically most possible to do.....that's not saying that it wouldn't still be very difficult and risky. There are also certain minerals there that might be useful in the future. It will get done eventually.....or it won't.....and while the moon will continue to inch away from us that will eventually stop. Edited by Stirlingsays (15 Dec 2018 9.42pm)

I believe it was the Sumerians who claimed that the Earth was created as a result if a collision with another planet. They also said that there were ten planets. Scientists today suspect there might be one more unseen planet. How did they Sumerians know this?
