I suspect Burnley will try to frustrate us as they did Leicester in their 0-0 draw at Leicester in Burnley's last away game. Half of Burnley's goals have been scored from set-pieces and they will use the aerial threat of the likes of Wood,Vokes,Barnes at every opportunity.Questions are going to be asked of Sakho and Tomkins. There is a distinct lack of pace running through their team.We score an early goal and I think this could be the springboard for a much needed victory.

Burnley will score, so we will either be held to a draw or be kept out yet again. Hart is bound to have his one game of the season against us. Edited by Pigglelet (27 Nov 2018 11.44am)

We were brilliant against ManUre while burnley looked rubbish against newcastle Don't single out Willo; there's plenty of other realists on this thread. The very fact that Burnley didn't shine against Newcastle is exactly why we should fear them; history has a habit of repeating itself, especially in 'should win' games at Selhurst Park.
Bexley Dave Can you hear the Brighton sing? I can't hear a ******* thing! "The most arrogant, obnoxious bunch of deluded little sun tanned, loafer wearing mummy's boys I've ever had the misfortune of having to listen to" (Burnley forum) |

If this is the actualite, still no goal scored from open play at 'Selhurst' and a disappointing result.Supporters will be in a steaming bate with fury spat forth akin to sparks from a welder's torch and high-grade ordnance dropped in the direction of Messrs Hodgson and Parish.

My word, you and that thesaurus. I think you meant actuality though old chap? This is a big big game for us. Its huge. We have ridden through a tough spell and done better than some thought, but we could have taken all 3 points vs Arsenal and Man Utd. Playing the big sides who like to come at us, and lets us break on them is our bread and better in all honesty. The problem is even Wolves figured out that you dont come to Selhurst and try to play on the front foot. Dyche is a canny adversary and they will sit in and see if we can pick them off, and try to break on us. Therein lies the rub as when we are given possession freely and invited to try to dance our way through 2 banks of four, we struggle massively. If Max Meyer can pull a few strings, and if Zaha doesnt get triple teamed I think we can get a result in this one. The tide is turning and the performance at Old Trafford is another stone in rebuilding the vast wall of confidence that was shattered after last year. I think we prevail 2-1 with goals from PVA and Zaha.
Trump lost. Badly. Hahahahahahaha. |

Nothing. Last year they had luck on their side and won a lot of games by the odd goal. This year luck has perhaps deserted them and they have returned to their natural level. Having been at both games last season we should have thrashed them at their place - but lost 1-0. I suspect there was plenty of that going on for them last year. They were also poor in our home game(although a pretty turgid affair)
