It is considered tasteful and correct to flower arrange (and for bonsai tree arrangements) items in odd numbers (3,5.7,9). Thankfully M&S displayed four knickers and did not fall into the trap of displaying seven - being seen to suggest what might be suitable as Saturday knickers.

That's quite enough about my lovely wife and back to the topic I am pleased that M&S hasn't bowed to the Twitterati and has effectively raised two fingers to the complainers.

Hmmm or was it just a clever advertising campaign? These days you cannot tell and corporates realise that a social media storm can be a cheap form of advertising. The last time "my 7yo asked" I checked the woman's Twitter account and she worked for a publicity firm. Now that maybe a co-incidence but Kleenex (Man size) bowed to her demands a few days after her complaint and whilst the storm had not yet gathered pace. yup. And 'everybody else' is wrong and a potential enemy. the dogma is not up for discussion and eschews facts and reasoned arguments. they got a persecution complex and feel 'hard done by' .... a classic sign of a fanatic. and no matter how much you give them, they are never content and want more.
