He raises his arm to block the run and catches him, but unless the ref can read Sakho's mind that he intended to do that, I really don't see that being a foul anywhere on the pitch THANK YOU! I thought I was going crazy. The key thing is the eyes. If he glances for 1 second then he's aiming to do it. His eyes are on the ball fully and when he runs he runs with arms to get momentum like ANYBODY. It looked like the Ref was desperate for a winner on the Monday night game. Sky probably had a word. There was nothing malicious in it whatsoever.

I didn't see it but it sounded from the commentary as if it was stonewall. Then I realised that it wasn't a commentator speaking but a t***. (Sutton).

In my opinion Sakho's best performances were those when he was on loan to us. I don't think he's achieved that level since on a consistent basis. As for the penalty, as Roy said, the ref was entitled to give it as there was clear contact. And those Bournemouth boys need little encouragement when it comes to physical contact. Sorloth...it's a chicken and egg situation with him. Roy sees him every day in training - if he was delivering there then he would be earning the game time that some claim he needs to fully prove himself. From what I have seen, he's a long way short of the required standard.

Is it just me or does Sorloth always look scared and sad? As if the other boys are mean to him.

Give Sørloth a run in the team - no chanche to impress with odd ten minutes now and then. Alas, he's not good enough to impress anyone!

However you wanna spin it that was a 100% stonewall penalty all day long, if it had happened to Benteke it wouldnt have been given, but it was a very definate penalty, no excuses, Sakho should be fined for that, cost us a point AGAIN!

We need Benteke back ASAP, even a misfiring Benteke is street's ahead of Ayew and Sorloth. Who would have thought that after a few games absent (and when there was a general sigh of relief that injury would exclude him for a while) that we might be longing for the good ole days of Tekkers up front. I'm not sure I fully agree but we certainly haven't found an obvious alternative yet.

I would say it was indefensible, but obviously not for some. The ref had just been over to have words with them so it wasn't even an out of the blue decision. Could've cost us 3 points as we were the side that looked more like winning at that moment.
