I did it to my mates gf. He found out on the night my mum passed He never got his vengeance as a result of the timing. My brother didn’t speak to me for four years but all ok now. Edited by matthau (24 Sep 2018 7.03am)

Edited by Badger11 (23 Sep 2018 11.40pm) No Badger, it appears I was wrong. Obviously the HOL is not the only website I am spending too much time on!

It wouldn't be the first time that words change their meaning Gay being the obvious one as in Gay bachelor originally meaning a young man chasing women. Maybe I should start a thread about how words have changed over time which of course is the beauty of English and why no group shoudl be allowed to claim "this is our word". Meanings and language are actually quite static given normal circumstances....for example we can still read Shakespeare and that's what four hundred and fifty odd years old.....what probably happens more is that it expands. I have few issues with people moaning about the easy abuse of the English language. Edited by Stirlingsays (24 Sep 2018 9.39am)

Don't ya just love the HOL with threads like this. Starts off by 'shagging your mates wife' & ends up discussing the merits of the English language via Shakespeare' BRILLIANT . . .
This operation, will make the 'Charge Of The Light Brigade' seem like a simple military exercise. |

You mean the one the inventor drove off a cliff? Not a good advert he must have been a Charlton supporter the way their club is going.
