Needles to say. Wrong, 'Patriotism is the last refuge of the scoundrel' were Johnson's words. 'false patriotism' is an interpretation of what Johnson said later by Boswell.

Samuel Johnson is a well known figure in English history and was a Tory. Only the uneducated think this quote means what you say it does. Edited by Stirlingsays (03 Oct 2018 6.16pm)

Edited by Stirlingsays (03 Oct 2018 6.16pm) We think what he actually said, not what Boswell thought he said, is what we would prefer to believe. But then he was a tory as you say. And therefore a complete scoundrel anyway.

I literally can't stand this woman. I'd rather have Corbyn. Holding out a hope for Johnson or Mogg.

She's worse. Get over it. You can only claim that because Corbyn is not in No 10. I am frightened to imagine a Britain under Corbyn and his cronies. A frickin' nightmare.
