I presume after all the Zaha furore, VAR was not used on Saturday?!

Apparently Sane's disallowed goal against Fulham is the only decision that would have been overturned [Link]

It was a highly dubious decision to disallow the goal, but not a clear and obvious error. It would therefore not have stood, even with VAR in use.

What we have to be mindful off is that the VAR will not advise a referee to review an incident etc etc if in the opinion of the VAR it is not a "Clear and obvious error" but of course this is very subjective and open to debate. At the end of the day VAR is not a panacea - where subjectivity is present there will always be polarised views amongst supporters.

With that in mind...VAR should be consulted EVERY TIME the ball is in the back of the net with the obvious question "is there any reason why it CANT be given?"
