Depends what your requirements are. I use mine for: catch up TV, Now TV, streaming music, browsing, email etc. - no gaming or Netflix.

And I'm more than happy with no broadband at all!

I use mobile WiFi. 40Gb for £17/month (Three), in a credit card sized unit you can take anywhere.

Love it.

I pay £14/month for 40gb for mobile wifi with three, but that is for a 24 month contract. Reliable enough giving 8/9 mbps.

My landline with EE gives me 0.2 mbps (yes 0.2) Only use EE as we can get phone calls abroad in the package.

I am with Virgin Media, which on the whole I am happy with. pretty reliable, and good customer service, but they endlessly put their prices up...

I do not have a BT Phone line coming into my house, as Virgin does not require it...
Does anyone know if BTPhone lines are required for all the other services, as used to be the norm?

Ring them up as they dont want to lose you. i did and got a 10% discount for a year.
I have been with them since they were telewest though.

Anyone saying BT come back to me when you experience their customer service.

Anyone saying Plusnet come back to me when you realise that they're the bargain basement brand name of BT... See former statement.

If you're not with Virgin, you rely on BT for the maintenance of your line and openreach are dreadful. Choose a provider with good customer service reviews as they'll be chasing BT on your behalf.
Personally, I never had a problem with sky, talktalk or Vodafone.

I agree that BT customer Service is rubbish however in fairness I have been with them about 10 years and only had 1 fault.

The only other times I have contacted them is when renewing my contract and yes they always seem to screw up the deal by not providing what I asked for or overcharging me. However on the plus side the service has been very reliable so I have had no need to contact them.

If you are a person who feels the need to contact your service provider on a regular basis then I whole heartedly agree don't go BT.

broadband is like insurance when it goes wrong is when you realise what type of service they provide.
