It's not Alex Salmond's year so far. Not only is he facing charges his beloved RBS is about to change it's name to Nat West. Back in the day when Fred Goodwin ran the company he expanded the group from a minor European bank to being briefly one of the biggest banks in the work with Alex acting as chief cheerleader. When RBS decided to by ABN AMRO Alex wrote a public letter to Sir Fred demanding he go through with it even though the markets were telling Fred the price was too high. However he ignored the experts and inherited a load of toxic debt which collapsed the bank because they hadn't done there due diligence. The bank I worked for at the time also looked at ABN AMRO and walked away. RBS branches will still continue but the group name is gone I expect Nicola is also having fits over this. So much for Scotland the brave.

This post has been merged from a topic called 'Alex Salmond innocent' by Midlands Eagle Alex Salmond innocent of 12 charges of sexual assault and one charge not proven. Perhaps Prince Andrew can appear in a Scottish court and get off. And Harvey Weinstein. Smells bad to me.

Can't have been much of a case, the jury were only out for a very short while, probably finished in public life though.

Alex Salmond isn't to blame.....he's dyslectic and he thought SNP stood for 'Stiff Nationalist People'.

Strange that they didn't believe 11/12 women witnesses, but that of a borderline alcoholic....

I was working directly for Fred at the time. It became very obvious very quickly it was a massive mistake to buy ABN Amro. My mates went over to Holland to work on it whilst I was stuck in Croydon and Bromley. Oh, and Sweden and Finland.

Isn't Scottish law somewhat different in that you can be 'not guilty' but rather in this case, it was 'not proven'.
