I got a clue to his attitude when he tried a shot from outside the box (when he had two better options) and ballooned it into the heavens. When was the last time he score from outside the box? Lewington had his head in his hands and Hodgson kicked the air when he did it then he was subbed. Similarly, in the Fulham game, there was a ball be could have easily kept in in an attacking position but he let it run out. Zaha was visibly annoyed with him. So was I. I don't expect him to chase everything. But I don't see much difference to games last season where he let the ball run out of play because he couldn't be bothered or when he grossly overestimated his ability and had his own cause in mind rather than the team. I don't think fans are on his back and he had support - but it won't last if he continues like this. I hope I'm wrong, but these are my observations so far. I hope that answers your question. Ps, his record of late is terrible. Edited by Frickin Saweet (21 Aug 2018 4.48pm) Sorry fella, but you ain’t uttered a single word in your response that justifies your comment regarding his attitude The guy is trying his best, whether it’s food enough at times is a separate subject but you can’t question his effort or attitude

There is a reason Liverpool paid 75M for Van Dyke .... he showed it last night and made sure Benteke hardly got a sniff of a chance. We will not face many other teams as good as Liverpool. We cannot afford for Benteke not to come good again we have invested massively in him. Yes we have options now up front but we have to keep supporting Benteke. He will get his mojo back.

How on earth are you judging his attitude? Are you in the dressing room and at all of the training sessions, can you hear what he is saying to his team mates, the ref etc Again, I'm not saying he was great last night, but what specifically do you mean? He aint gonna chase everything down like Cameron Jerome used to, that's not him nor is it our style under Roy, especially against the top sides The fact of the matter is, we have him until at least January probably the rest of the season. He has a better track record than any other striker in the squad and his confidence will only get better if fans get off his back and actually support him Our next run of games are perfect for him and I for one will be hope (believe) he will find the back of the net I will say benteke needs more aggression to his game. He always looks depressed or short of confidence. More aggression is what he needs. That counts as attitude- so he’s right in that sense, imo

It will probably neither get any harder for him than Liverpool nor easier than Fulham. I'm not that optimistic

Now go do one We are commenting on the forward line, when you can work out what that is, feel free to comment. Back peddling making out Zaha isn't a forward shows how much you seem to know. Do one what?

Any hopes we had of Benteke being a 'new man' this season have been blown out the water in these first 2 games where he has shown that he's just as s*** as he was last season... Watching Murray for Brighton against Man Utd the other day makes it worse as he was ours and does everything Benteke doesn't!! I'm sorry but the guy is shot to pieces... Take the hit in January, sell him and get his huge wages off the bill.
Don't waste your time with jealousy. Sometimes your ahead, sometimes your behind, the race is long. But in the end it's only with yourself!! |
