You have to figure that they are trying to loan out Innis. But yeah, looks like we'd have to loan out him and one other just to have a free spot. Don't think Punch wants to play in the Championship, but maybe Jairo could find a European team interested (I'd rather keep him though)

There are also players like Ryan Innis who is 23 so they count too. the rule is that 24 hours after deadline day squads must be sent to Premier League naming a maximum of 25 players over 21. if club has less than they may take free agents but only if there are not 25 senior players including the injured. I think we have 26 This mess up I think will mean deadline day next year will not be different to Europe and will also include loans Edited by Palace in the Blood (15 Aug 2018 7.45pm) I highly doubt we've named Innis in our 25, if we have indeed named 25.

I think you have to name any player under contract (not loaned out) who is over 21 in the squad if you have fewer than 25.

i dont see our squad as short at all. every position is covered well and any further signings would be just for the sake of it.

It'd be a lot easier if the FA would just publish the bleeding lists, seeing as they have them.

One of the first things RH did when he arrived last season was to settle the squad and then he set about getting the best out of his players. Unless agents are pushing their players out to Europe or EFL then I think Roy would’ve decided his 25 and not messed about whether he could’ve changed it or not (as per the above musings). It’s not always under his control, but the sentiment and security within thebsquad certainly is.

The rule is as it was. As someone else has said, we had to name players last season. But why don't you prove the contrary instead of wanting others prove you wrong?

With the talk about Puncheon, Williams, Kaikai and even Ward going out on loan I wonder if we have have plans to bring in free agents because why would Roy risk us being short of players if we get hit by injuries again? If said players go out on loan it will no doubt be for a fee and they then can't be recalled. Sure, some of those players mentioned might not play much and might want a loan move but they are paid employees so our needs come before theirs. They will be paid at the end of the day. Before any smart arses say 'in Parish/Roy we trust' this is a discussion forum. You can put blind trust in people, that worked out well last season. Cue another smart arse saying 'yeah, it did because we stayed up'. The fanboys are so predictable! ;-)

We can't. We had more than 25 senior players when the window shut, so we can't add to the squad until Jan, even if we send some of them out on loan. I suspect that Puncheon, Williams and possibly Kaikai were not named in the 25 so need to go out on loan.
