I can see that but if that is the case, why didn't he want to go to Swansea where chances are he'd start all if not most games? can't see him as a regular starter for a prem team just yet so it'd be either drop down a league or move back abroad

Maybe the ‘could be’ isn’t that strong in our eyes. Of course there are different levels of Prem footballers and even if he were good enough for us he’d still be 5th choice. I don’t know how much a possibility of another club loaning him in may put them off but it’d surely just be the loan fee.

Anyway, if he proves to be not that good or rated by the borrowing club then our asset depreciates and that’s a big reason to why he’s going, in addition to lower level of ability. We need the money now.
