I think we should all have national ID cards for the good of the country in many ways. Random checks Basically one card for all and no more information than the state already has.

When were these breaches, Cucking? Do you have some examples? 9000 breaches in one year. More examples: Countless other examples available, with HMRC being prime offenders. Edited by Cucking Funt (30 Jul 2018 3.29pm)

Nothing to hide from, nothing to fear showing your ID. So you don't mind if a complete stranger accesses your personal data for no reason? Call me Mr Old-Fashioned but I actually find that pretty worrying.

If I知 asked to provide my ID I値l have no problem. If the government want to look at my address, date of birth etc on the database I値l have no problem with that either. They can already anyway, unless you池e here illegally or trying to stay off government records for illegal reasons.

Showing your passport/driving licence to prove age, residency or whatever is one thing - storing everything on one card, which means accessing a central database to which the chip on the card would have to be connected (which is what this thread's all about) is quite another. The scope for abuse is just too enormous to consider.

It's 106 miles to Chicago, we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark... and we're wearing sunglasses. |

Edited by PalazioVecchio (30 Jul 2018 7.00pm) In all fairness, ID cards won't stop stabbings. Only more and better police/ policing can do that. Or possibly some kind of long-term social engineering. National service would get my vote.
