The basic attitude of Remain is that we should have another referendum until they get the result they want.
It is particularly laughable since the process is at its most negative time right now, which was inevitable given what had to be achieved.
Let's have another referendum in 20 years or 30 years when we can see how it has all turned out.

so why have a general election every 4 years then?

Here's a teaser for you: Maybe it's got something to do with people changing their minds?

Every year since EU membership, more immigrants have arrived from outside the EU than from within. LEaving the EU will make zero difference to that influx because there are many, many people who have access to British passports in countries like India, which effectively give the free access to the UK whenever they like and very often that won't be anything to do with work or contributing anything financially.

The poster referred to himself so I was just responding in similar terms.

A referendum is a one off event whereas governments have a maximum term.
The statement has no relevance.

Simple, the EU is the biggest trading bloc in the world. Everyone wants to trade with it and the US is dependent on it. That's why Trump dropped all of his sabre rattling jibe as soon as he met Juncker. It's like a supplier getting a contract with Tesco (EU) rather than a locally family run group of shops (UK). It's called reality.

And all of that must change unless we want to face meltdown.
Leaving the EU is just a step.

It's 100% relevant as there is also no minimum time limit to hold another referendum for the same vote. Enjoy.

There is more trade to be had outside the EU that within.
The biggest trading block does not equal a monopoly.

There is no obligation to hold another referendum whatsoever.

Tell that to the NHS where thousands of qualified staff who are EU citizens have already left. I hope you staying fit and healthy.
