Williams might be able to shepherd the defence quite well.

Not sure about that I think he's more of an attacking player and doesn't really have leadership qualities..

Also people are talking about AWB like he's something other than a first team player. WTF.

Do you expect me to read EVERY post?

Having now read yours - you make a really good point. I may be wrong but I think if he did establish himself properly , regardless of any personal potential success, I always suspect JW would be a “one man club”.

Always remembering walking from the Holmesdale to the Whitehorse end at half time!

I should say wooosh buy I don't really like it when people do that. Welsh?

As for Obi-Wan, he could be the next Moses or Clyne (hopefully).

Why do people think Williams can do it for us in the Premier League when he couldn't do it at other teams (when fit) in a lower league?

Ask a Sunderland fan and they think he is useless.

I've said elsewhere that Kaikai should be given a go and I get it thrown at me that he didn't do well at Charlton yet the same people lord Williams as a RLC replacement.

Get a grip people. The Williams ship sailed in 2015 when he played a game in January under Pardew who promptly shipped him back out.

I agree, he would have shown signs of promise already and would have clubs showing interest... if he wasn't home grown, he would have been shipped out long ago align with Mutch, Chamakh, Klebb etc

This was once a quality forum....

From his Wiki page :

During the 2013–14 season, Palace's first season back in the Premier League, Williams made nine league appearances, before going on loan at the start of 2014.

Ollies sweet shop era did him no favours. If we had gone quality over quantity and played him a little more then who knows.

I loved him once, but I'm surprised he's still at the club quite frankly, he was never really considered to have the physicality necessary to be a top midfielder, it wasn't just injuries he wasn't rated highly enough and so wasn't picked - too many years have passed, he was part of our promotion squad, but he hasn't seriously figured since then, didn't look all that in the Euros, and needs to find a championship club - there will be plenty of takers.

Spot on

I agree.

I don’t think he played that well for Wales.

I can’t see him doing much.

Maybe if he played well at Ipswich, Forest and Sunderland then he'd have got a look in?
