British teams are good at getting to semi-finals, but it's further than quite a while and both had ex-Palace players as managers.

Overall did much better than expected. Needed a second goal when we were dominating in the first half. Sterling always seems to make the wrong decision and Dele Alli goes missing. How we could do with a Modric or David Silva. Fortunate with the drawer but we have moved forward. Unfortunately people's expectations will have been raised for the next tournament. Well done to the players, only our 3rd semi-final.

Oh and you want an example of the sort of passion you get with a Croat. Our own lately departed Mile (The Beast) Jedinak was born in Croatia.

Croatia 4 million population; England 58 million population. One with huge football league, one without. One with boys encouraged to emasculate and the other not. Ever get the feeling you've been cheated? Until we stop flooding our Premium league etc with foreign players and strive to concentrate on nurturing home grown talent at the highest level, it will probably be the same ol' scene for at least another generation. We could've beaten Croatia however we simply didn't have the required talent; composure and fitness levels on display that we showed vs. Sweden.

Your first point is s a factor, I won't deny it......As for Sweden...Well, they are also a low population country...and as we know...the males in Sweden have been pretty emasculated for decades now. We lost today because too many of our attacking players didn’t perform. Kane was invisible, Lingard, Alli and Sterling didn’t turn up and I’ve no idea why Ashley Young was even in the squad.

Croatia let off the hook by England. Croatia were better on the ball and deserved their win. You don't take your chances you lose.
