Dont let Cabaye go |

Got to hand it to Parish if these signings work out using the strategy of waiting to see who spends and bloats their squad so much they need to sell, especially with egotistical managers taking over. We’ll see. Kouyate, Antonio and 2 loans and that’ll do thanks bearing in mind our financial predicament.

Kouyate is a crap technical player. He can't control the ball at all and his passing is rubbish too. Having said that, I don't believe we are a tiki taka footballing team and the guy has an engine in him that doesn't stop. I see him as a box to box midfielder and I would say his speciality is late runs into the box. If w can get him and Antonio for £20m and RLC and maybe Fosu Mensah on loan again, without having to sell anyone, I think I would be happy with that.

I haven't seen enough of Kouyate to give a view, but the wetspam views are genuinely mixed - seems the first two years of his time there were good but he's lost his form since he signed a new contract in 2016 - he had a bit part role in the World Cup, it seems if we got him back to near his best, and the fact he's still in the Senegal squad is a very good sign (and he's only 2, he would be a very solid signing - and I think Antonio is a must - would give proper competition to Townsend and whichever more attacking midfielder we get to replace RLC and can play as a striker. Those two in and another front line midfielder and we can stop panicking at the inadequacy/imbalance of our current squad.

Roy is an excellent coach at this level and if he agrees on this or other signings and thinks he can get them playing above the level they have been then that should be enough, as long as there’s enough new players.

Well he started 32 league games for them last year (3rd on team) and allowing for up to two assists per goal was 2= on the team in that category 10 mill for a mid-table regular still in 20's for a position we need filling seems a bit of a steal. I know they have a lot of new faces but with Lanzini out indefinitely this is a bit of a surprise

You know players are awful when they do not even get on the bench yet the club has a massive injury crisis
